YAA MISSION

Yaa Asantewaa Arts and Community Centre (Yaa) will achieve its vision by continuing to provide a platform which initiates, supports and develops cultural and educational arts activities benefiting diverse communities. It will do this through a focused programme of activities including  carnival arts, performing arts, youth activities, community events, digital technologies, community development, audiovisual and literature amongst others.

Yaa will strengthen its local, national and international network through cultural exchanges, outreach programmes and partnership agreements with a wide spectrum of individuals, institutions and organisations.

It will support and develop artists and assist them to earn a living through education, practice, performance and the creative industries.

Yaa's home at 1 Chippenham Mews W9  2AN is currently being refurbished and  with our partners Carnival Village we are scheduled to reopen our new home The Yaa Centre in December 2010. During this refurbishment period we are temporarily based at    Fernhead Road, Methodist Church, Fernhead Road, London W9 3AE.
